Today we have been learning about WALT: Collect bacteria in our science laboratory.
Equipment
- cotton swab
- Agar dish
- vivid pen.
Method
- Divide the agar in half by drawing a line on the underneath of the lid.
- Collect the bacteria on a cotton bud swab from taps, computer keyboards or desks.
- Wipe the swab onto the agar solution carefully making sure you do not damage the agar.
- Put the petri dish into the incubator for 1 week to allow the bacteria to grow.
- Look at the bacteria under the microscope.
